Your Town

Houghton Regis has a population of approximately 17,000 people and is catered for by a major supermarket, a shopping centre, two petrol stations and many local shops. 

Several industrial areas on the west side of town provide local employment opportunities. 

Sports and recreation also feature heavily in Houghton Regis. The town has eight areas of public open space, which provide up to 12 football pitches, a cricket square, a Bowls Green, five pavilions, a skate park, and five children’s play areas (four of which have undergone major refurbishment).

Houghton Regis has a wealth of local history, with references to the town mentioned in the Domesday Book.

The town has already begun to expand, but further developments will occur in the next 20 years, which will mean major changes and new opportunities.
